Cachet Display Catalog: FDC Cachetmakers Index
This page displays all 54 of the 1940 New York World’s Fair Poster Stamps that were overprinted in silver on the
1939 New York World’s Fair Poster Stamps. Also displayed are all the U.S. Scott
#853 First Day Covers I have seen which were specifically designed to incorporate the 1939 poster stamps as an integral part of each cachet. Please write if you can send a scan of any other #853 FDC with one of these stamps attached to it.
Also displayed are U.S. Scott #853 First Day Covers with 31 different 1939 Poster Stamps attached to Adam K. Bert's #5 sized covers. I have no proof either way that the poster stamps were attached by Bert in 1939 or by somebody else decades later. However, it seems likely to me that Bert would have attached them horizontally so they might get tied to each cover by the First Day cancel.

1939 Poster Stamps -- 1940 Poster Stamps -- 15" x 14-1/2"
This page displays 1940 New York World's Fair Poster Stamps that were overprinted on the 1939 Poster Stamps because I cannot find all 54 of these overprinted single stamps displayed anywhere else on the Web. I have not seen any of these overprints on any canceled cover. All
#853 First Day Covers displayed on this page were serviced with 1939 Poster Stamps and were canceled on 4-01-1939, 30 days before the Fair opened on 4-30-1939.
Stamps are displayed and numbered in the order they appear on the sheet, top row to bottom row
