This page Indexes the printed biographies of the "Famous Philatelists: Personalities of the Past" entries in the various editions I own of "Linn's World Stamp Almanac" published by Linn's Stamp News,   and   Brian J. Birch's on-line bibliography, Biographies of Philatelists and Dealers (downloaded from ...). It also links to Philatelic biographies at Wikipedia and at the APS, ASDA and Smithsonian websites. As they may have Wikipedia pages, also included are a few famous stamp designers, e.g. Paul & Chris Calle, and an occasional subject of a stamp release, e.g. John Muir.

** = Note: Birch does not list very many First Day Cover Cachetmakers as being Philatelists. I can find that he has only sixteen bibliographic references to FIRST DAYS. See my Philatelic Birth Dates, Index and Links page for over 850 FIRST DAYS article references for over 1,700 more people who mostly (but not exclusively) have some connection to First Day Covers. So far I have found Birch entries for 45 Cachetmakers, Cachet lines, FDC dealers and collectors by searching his work for "cachet", "first day" and "FDC". FDC related people below with "**" are listed by Birch but NOT by Linn's.
