Cachet Display Catalog: FDC Cachetmakers Index
This page displays lithographed World War II Patriotic cachets created by
"Diana" (19?? - 19??) presumably of Evanston, Illinois. "Matthew J. Huss" produced the "Diana" signed World War II Patriotics shown on this page as well as those designed by his three other known free-lance artists:
Alberta J. Goff, L.I. Olsen and
? Moher . Although many of them were serviced as First Day Covers (FDC), no Huss produced designs were made for any specific postal released issue.
According to a Stamp Community Posting, "Diana" has been identified as the wife of M.J. Huss . This is the "18c SOLO - EX-HUSS ESTATE", Posted 10/17/2017 5:48 pm screen captured post from the
Stamp Community page . However, I believe this information may not be correct. Another source at Chandler's, from about 1978 when I visited the store, identified Diana Postel to be the artist of all of Huss's World War II Patriotic Cachets signed "Diana". As yet, I cannot verify this.

The "V-J DAY COVER" is a special event overprint added only to covers Huss produced and canceled on 9-02-1945. This overprint is listed separately by Sherman. He also made a "V-E DAY COVER" overprint, but I have found no examples of it yet.
