          This page is the "Folk Music Collections" discography listing Various Artists which I originally submitted to the Internet Music Archives at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (UWP), in Kenosha, WI on 11-30-1991. It was the first discography I wrote after I discovered the Archives. For those titles I have never seen, with no tracks listed, the information shown came from various catalogs, album liner notes and other sources.

Known ripoffs of this album
   Word of warning, any time you see Erik Darling's name misspelled as
   "Eric", it is extremely likely that he had absolutely nothing to do with
   the album the name "Eric Darling" appears on.
1993 Blue Grass Music from the Southern Appalachians
         Delta Music Inc. / LaserLight 12-181                           {A}
19?? Instrumental Music and Songs of the Southern Appalachians
         Legacy International CD-329                                    {A}
The first two ripoffs state:
   "Featuring Eric Darling: banjo, dulcimer, fiddle, harmonica and guitar"
Although the first 20 tracks on these CD's are identical to the original
LP, none of the original musicians who performed them are mentioned in the
liner notes of either CD. I do not know who performed tracks #21-30.
They are all solo vocals and duets by women.
   Here are the added tracks on the first two ripoffs above:
      21   2:16  Hard And It's Hard              artist?
      22   2:11  Bowling Green                   artist?
      23   2:30  I'll Fly Away                   artist?
      24 2:55 The Darby Run artist?
      25   3:04  Willie Moore                    artist?
      26   2:40  Little Birdie                   artist?
      27 3:16 The Banks Of The Ohio artist?
      28   3:32  The Wagoner's Lad               artist?
      29 2:27 Poor Ellen Smith artist?
      30 1:44 What Will We Do With The Baby-O artist?
And the third ripoff I know about:
19??  Blues Grass Festival
         by Bill Monroe & his Bluegrass Boys & Eric Darling
         label unknown
   Although I have never heard the third CD, listed by CDDB, the first six
track titles are identical to tracks #A1,A3,A9,B6,28,29 above. Tracks #7-19
are familiar titles Bill Monroe wrote and/or performed, however I do not
know if he performed them on this CD.
