Neenah Jazz Fest 2004
- 10th Annual
-- Select by year:
Neenah 1995-2003
/ Menasha 2004-2009
/ 2010-2019
Canceled by its host for nine years,
Future Neenah, Inc. [Archive],
due to the renovation of Shattuck Park, the Festival's home. Sometime in
the Spring of 2004, they decreed the Festival would go on "hiatus" for a
year and resume the following year after the Park was finished. However,
to the local Jazz community, that was unacceptable. The Neenah Jazz Fest
was reorganized by John Harmon, Jim Putman and friends, moved to Menasha,
and renamed to "Fox Jazz Fest". Neenah lost its Festival permanently.
In other words, there never was a 10th Annual Neenah Jazz Fest
in 2004. As a personal choice, I have called the 2004 Festival the
1st Annual Fox Jazz Fest. Others have called it the
10th Annual Fox Jazz Fest" because it was the 10th Jazz Festival held in the
Fox Cities area.
