          This page was created because it is not possible to prevent everyone in the world from editing and changing anything I say about myself on my Wikipedia "User:Henkle" page. It is wonderful to be able to edit every other Wikipedia subject, but for my own personal information, that is not acceptable.

Hi to all Wikipedians,

          Welcome to my Folk Library Index Web site, on-line since 11-25-1995. My name is Doug. For those used to addressing their fellow Wikipedians by their Username, I'm sorry, but I do not answer anyone who addresses me by just "Henkle". The U.S. Army did that to me from June 1964 to June 1966. I didn't like it then, and I still don't.

Occupation: Retired Computer Analyst / Programmer at UW Oshkosh.

Interests:

• Music: Folk Music, acoustic music, and Wisconsin music of all genres except Pop/Rock. Searching for Wisconsin Opera recordings, but can't find any.
• Reading: music books, Star Trek novels and short stories, Doc Savage, Sherlock Holmes, and computer books, one recent, "Bad Boy Balmer".
• DVDs: Star Trek (all the TV Series, movies and books of TOS, TNG, Voyager), Star Wars (all 6 movies); other Science Fiction (favorites among many, Contact, The Arrival, Back to the Future, Galaxy Quest); Westerns, War, etc. (favorites, The Magnificent Seven, any Western starring Randolph Scott, Von Ryan's Express, Guns of Navarone, The Great Escape, The Sting, Lawrence of Arabia, Ghandi, Field of Dreams, Dancing With Wolves, Waterworld, Yentl, 1984, Animal Farm); and TV Series other than Star Trek: (favorites, Sherlock Holmes starring Jeremy Brett, West Wing, JAG, Kung Fu, Lois & Clark, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits).
• Live TV: PBS and the ABC evening news, nothing else!

Articles Created:

• Beginning Opera Singers pages: Gabriel Bacquier, Only name, birth/death information and vocal range, "External Links" and "References". For example, I initially installed only:
        Gabriel Bacquier (born May 17, 1924 in Beziers, France) is a French operatic baritone.
  All the rest of the biography there now was created by other editors. See Wikipedia Talk:Henkle for more details about my current Wikipedia Opera Singers editing project.
