Cachet Display Catalog: FDC Cachetmakers Index
Minkus Cachet Identifier -- Minkus Numbers Cross Reference
This page displays all 52 (fifty two) of the World War II Patriotic designs which Jacques Minkus (1901–1996) published on cacheted envelopes in 5 separate sets between 1940 and 1943:
All designed displayed on this page were Copyrighted by Jacques Minkus in 1940, 1942 and 1943.
Set 0 -- 12 cachets -- 1940All 52 designs were assigned "JM-n.n" Catalog Numbers by the late Dr. Richard A. Monty (1935-2013) in his 1977 book below. This page displays only one example of each major design variety. No attempt is made here to address the known color variations of any design as described by Dr. Monty.
Monty, Dr. Richard A., "Jacques Minkus FDC and Patriotic Cachet Catalog", 1977, 93 p., Stewartsville, NJ: F.D.C. Publishing Co., OCLC: 8246511, no ISBN, no LC, no UPC
Note: the above title appears on the spine and the front cover, however, the title page has: "Specialized Catalogue of Jacques Minkus F.D.C.s and Patriotic Cachets".The designs are displayed as crops from mostly serviced First Day Covers (FDC). Those designs I do not own and could find no FDC example of on the Web, are displayed as unserviced envelopes from my personal collection, with the exception of JM-3.7 and JM-4.5 which I could not find as a first day or unserviced. All designs were printed on standard 6-3/4" envelopes.
* = unserviced cover
** = 1940's era cancel
all others are First Day Covers
