This is a listing of all 17 recordings by University choirs, bands and orchestras which are available for in-house research purposes in the UW Oshkosh Archives and Area Research Center. The Center is located on the 3rd Floor, south wing of the Forrest R. Polk Library in the government documents reading room. These recordings cannot be checked out of the building or Inter-Library Loaned.
"UW Oshkosh", as used here, also refers to recordings produced on campus under other different school names. See the "UW Oshkosh", also known as: section for a complete list of our School/College/University name history.
The beginning numbers in square brackets are storage label stickers put on by the previous owner, and they will not be used as part of the eventual official cataloging of these recordings by the Library. They are noted here only for the temporary use by this discographer and other researchers until each previously undocumented/uncataloged recording has a call number, possibly by Fall 2002. I did an extensive search in WISCAT, the Library Computer Catalog for all Wisconsin libraries, and found no cataloged copies of any of these albums anywhere else in the state, and no copies of any UW Oshkosh recordings other than the ones listed here.
The previous owner of this collection is unknown. It is also not known at this time whether or not this collection includes every recording ever released by University choirs, bands and orchestras. Further research is in progress. Please write if you know about any UW Oshkosh musical recording not listed here.
The albums below are listed in chronological order. These are just my preliminary notes on each recording. The format of each entry will change as I have time to add track titles and, if known, complete lists of performers.

** Interesting information found via searching on the Web:
Kay Bank Recording Studio, 2541 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55404-4249,
was also where many (all?) of the legendary "Soma Records" releases were
recorded by Dave Dudley, the Guess Who, the Trashmen and others. Kay Bank
later became Cookhouse, then Nicollet, and then Creation Studios.
There is a note on Julian West's
"Axel's Treehouse" site:
"23 April 1958: Clellan [Card] is the emcee of a 'recording clinic' at the new Kay Bank Recording Studios, 2541 Nicollet Avenue."As the above 78's date from 1953, it is not known at this time where Kay Bank was located between 1953 and 1958, or when and where Kay Bank started business.
